CHARACTER
COUNTS! is the most widely implemented approach to character education.
It's a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian framework that teaches the
Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility,
fairness, caring and citizenship. The CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition
embraces thousands of schools, communities and nonprofits. The national
office provides consulting and training services and produces support
materials and special projects.

Setting the Example
CHARACTER COUNTS! has been found to be extremely successful in our schools, lowering incidents of cheating, truancy, and violence in our schools and increasing the level of respect to and from students.
San Diego North CHARACTER COUNTS! is a collaborative community of individuals, organizations and businesses who support the idea that good character and integrity are the foundations of good business and a healthy community.
As the nation's largest character development framework, CHARACTER COUNTS! has been adopted by our schools locally. Our members support and model the idea that ethical behavior must be practiced throughout our community and not just taught to our youth.
Member Benefits
As a business partner, your company will be known as a CHARACTER COUNTS! business partner, identifying your company to your customers, clients, and vendors as a business of integrity.
- Partners will have available posters, decals, and counter displays to reflect their integrity.
- An ethics panel of experts will be available to discuss ethical dilemmas or problems to help resolve gray issues.
- Partners will be recognized in coalition newspaper ads and articles.
- Partners will receive free seating at coalition workshops.
- Partners will be posted on our local Web site and will have the opportunity to have a link back to their businesses.
Workshops
San Diego North CHARACTER COUNTS! will offer workshops for business partners and the general public on the six pillars of character: Trustworthiness, Respect, responsibility, fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
These workshops are intense workshops loaded with tools to take back to your business and your life to deal with inevitable issues in your daily life. Sample workshop topics:
- How to thrive in a down economy using simple character traits.
- How positive change can increase your bottom line.
- What is rudeness costing your business?
Note: Formal enrollment as a Business Partner of San Diego North CHARACTER COUNTS! is awarded after completion of application, receipt of payment, and approval of Board.
Membership fees are renewable annually.
